Golden Gate Men’s Chorus presents its annual spring concert, “Ascension,” a celebration
of new music from Scandinavia and the Baltic region, with a special focus on
two important composers and performing artists from Sweden: Fredrik Sixten and
GGMC presents the world premiere of Sixten’s commission, “Ascension”
set to the sonnet by John Donne, and performs three works by Paulsson with
Paulsson featured on the saxophone. Paulsson will also join the chorus in David Conte's "Goodbye, My Fancy" (commissioned by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus for Paulsson and premiered in 1992 in Carnegie Hall) and Leonard Enn's "Waking" (world premiere, commissioned by GGMC).
